Alan:

The coverage of your spectacular layout in OGR Run 314 is superb!!!! Being a northeast coast person, I love urban scenes and themes. Your layout captures the American large city wonderfully. I am sure that it is even more breath-taking when seen in person. Bravissimo on your creation!!!!

The building that most caught my interest is Grand Station. Was that scratch-built? If not, where is it commercially available (not as if I have room for it in my layout)?

Again, your layout outstanding!

Thanks Randy!  Grand Station is a kit bash so to speak.  Many years ago, Disney produced a very nice kit of their Main Street Station located at Walt Disney World.  They advertised it as an HO model but in reality a mistake was made by the kit vendor and it is in fact an O scale model.  Back when I first became aware of the kit, one could purchase them online for around an average of $30.00 to $50.00.  I ended up collecting 8 kits and so the station model on my layout is made up of these kits configured into a large passenger station.  The kits are so easy to work with and go together so well (no glue is required) that I did not have to cut or modify anything and so someday when it is time, all 8 kits will be able to go back into their boxes and then be sold as complete.  By the way, Steve Nelson of Mr. Muffins Trains created a similar station for his layout after contacting me soon after I built mine.  He did some nice painting of certain details on his which makes it look different from mine.  Oh, and currently the kits seem to be selling for between $150.00 and $300.00 each!  YIKES!

Thanks!
