Trying to remember where these go. I assume two washers on top part of the shaft, two on the bottom. What about the third small piece with the slot. Can’t find any exploded diagram views online for this any help would be appreciated. Photo included.

The piece with the slot is a motor brush. There should be two, and one goes in each hole/well in the brush plat on top of the motor.

From the repair manual on the 2023-100 motor. 4 thrust washers 671M-23, two thrust bearings 681-121 and 1 C clip 671M-22. Thrust Washer against the armature, Then a bearing and another thrust washer, Insert the armature into the housing. On the outside thrust washer, bearing, thrust washer and C clip in the notch in the armature.
If you are sure there were only 3 thrust washers, the second one above, against the inside of the housing/bearing may be the one not used. The bearing has a larger surface on the inside of the housing. There should be little verticle play, .010" or less. If there is .02" or more play then the 4th thrust washer is most likely needed.
Don't forget lubrication on the bearings when assembling.
