Saturday at 8AM a bunch of us will be meeting for breakfast at Partners in Agawam(few miles from the fair grounds).  Join up with us for great food and fuel for a long day of walking.  Website below.

Saturday evening a bunch of us head over to Red Rose in Springfield for the finest Italian around, say 4:30 come and join us but don't be late by 5 it will be standing room only.  only a few minutes form the show. Website below.

The main dealer I want to see is East Coast Train parts. I'd like to pick up a few storage boxes. I don't care about how a reproduction box is decorated. I just want to be able to store some odd sized items in boxes.
Such as:
3535 security car - its too tall for the generic boxes I have.
ZW Transformer boxes - so I can store them more compactly

Saturday is very packed.  All the train geeks who still live with mommy come out that day.  With that said most of us OGR forum members also go on Saturday.  Expect the halls to be packed.   Getting their that late you will not have enough time to see everything.

Weather is looking great.  40 Sat and 50 Sunday with only a small chance of a passing sprinkle

Never having attend before & living about 1 hour & 40 minutes away, would people recommend Saturday afternoon from about 1:30 p.m. (at the earliest) until closing (3-3.5 hours) or Sunday, when I could arrive at the opening bell and spend as much time as I wanted?

TIA!

Yes.

As in both!!

On a serious note, Matt, I agree with Gary & Scrapiron...getting there at 1:30 PM on Saturday will not give you enough time to see everything.

I'm planning to go on Saturday, and look forward to meeting some of you for the first time at the OGR Forum booth gathering!

I usually get there early and go to the Better living building first. I find I can make it through that building before it gets too crowded.

I feel it is well worth looking at the map and list of vendors to have a plan of attack. There is a lot to see.

This is all providing mom lets me take the car.

My birthday is Saturday and it has always been that we would celebrate my birthday weekend at the Big E train show.  Last year was a bust due to the weather so this year will be making up for it.  I only wish I still wasn't in the wheelchair but I am getting better but the show is so big that I'm glad I can have one of the gang push me around!  And of course then we can have my birthday dinner at the Steaming Tender restaurant provided we can get in.

My advise for  newbies is to download the list of dealers and highlight the ones you want to go to and see them first. then look around at everything else as time permits. And finally don't go to the Steaming Tender it's way too crowded.

Hi Folks,

I am seriously thinking of going tomorrow and want to plan my strategy this evening.  But I can't find the list of what/who is located in which buildings.

I checked the Amherst Hist. Society website twice now with no luck.

Also, where is the 2:00 PM group photo that SuperWarp1 mentioned?  Is it for O Gauge Forum members?

Thanks in advance,

Tomlonson Run Railroad
