minor correction... the Peppersas was the first Mount Washington Cog Railway loco.... run by Boston and Maine... until 1929. New Hampshire, not Colorado. They still run a steam loco up the mountain for the first run of the day.
Built in 1869
A ride on the Mount Washington Cog Railway is most definitely a fun experience, especially for those INCLINED to do so!
Good pictures Don & Alex!
EddieG didn't make it but EddieM did!
Looks like a great show !!
Some great o scale and one a scale layouts and displays at Springfield. The top pictures are of a layout based on the rail spur that used to serve the young building. Middle is a turntable on a nice a scale layout. The last pictures appear to be o scale narrow gauge seaport diorama.

I was very close to purchasing this Lionel HHP-8 with Railsounds.
In Ho Scale, you don't need a smoke unit and fluid. Just some cotton.

A steal at that price. Must have been a "show special".
Looks like a great show! Thanks for all the pictures.

Thanks so much for all of the photos and videos of the show. I missed this show. At least these photos and videos make up some for my absence.
I really like the video of a Williams N&W J 4-8-4 that had MTH's PS 3 installed. Great smoke. Very impressive! I wonder who did the work?

Also known as East Coast Railroads...one of our advertisers/sponsors! Beautiful work!
Great pictures. Thanks
Total attendance for the show was just under 24,000
Is that good or bad for this show? I went last year as well and it seemed more crowded and there seemed to be vendors missing around some of the walls in a couple of the buildings but still a great event to attend.

I believe you are in error. Rich Roman and Trainlayouts.com is not the same as CMR Custom Model Railroads. CMR makes mostly high rise custom laser cut models in HO and N. It is a totally seperate entity

They were a few hundred off of last years pace. Seemed pretty packed to me. Had to wait in line for tickets for the first time ever.
Thanks for taking the time to post the photos and share your weekend everyone. It does look like a nice show, one that I would like to visit someday.
I liked the mix of modeling, manufactures and selling… a little bit for everyone.

I was so busy talking with the owners of certain HO manufactures that I never had any time to see the railroad clubs operating layouts. I never even got close to get 2 miller signs I wanted, I was 3 deep waiting and just gave up and moved on. Same thing at woodland scenics and scenic express, by the time I got to stoddart's 3D wall art the display was 3/4 empty. I did get the last L&NE sign, missed the reading F7 sign for my son too. It took us 4 hour's and 20 minutes to get up there and 4 hours to get home. Will have to attend this show again and try to be there by 10 when it opens and leave at 5.
The structure kits are the one thing that could, but won't, pull me back to HO scale. I love building structure kits and had refused to buy built offerings in O.....until the Menard's power plant....then 3 Woodland and the Menard's Red Owl. But seeing all those HO buildings......wish we had the variety and affordability the large customer base permits in HO.

AMCDave - this is from CMR, and the ones in this photo are in HO and N scale. I had them make me one O scale building so far. Their work is top-notch, but two things to keep in: they offer only HO and N scale (unless something has changed recently), so any O scale building will be a custom project. And, because they offer quality, pricing (for HO and N) is relatively high in relation to buildings from their competitors, and when they scale it up for O scale, pricing is approx. 4x HO pricing. But if you want beautiful city buildings that will set your layout apart from all those that sport your basic MTH buildings, and can afford it, I say go for it.
Amherst is always a great show to much to see in to little time. Some of these photos might be repeats.
The Trolley photo is of a large prewar scale trolley that was my Dads in the 1930's it was eventually restored and donated to the Seashore Trolley Muesum it actually ran with motors in the trucks on bigger then stanadrd gauge . I had not seen it since my Dads passing 30 years ago. My Dad was involved in the origins of the Seashore Trolley Muesum before embarking on a 30 year US Naval Career starting in 1941.
K&P Brick Co, 1/48th scale Coal mine. Phil of York, PA almost convinced me to buy his cool multi building kit and I still, might order it.
