Hi All, I am new to this site, I am doing some volunteer work for a model railroad, they want to set up an amp meter to monitor 9 tracks ,the set up is like this,9 switch type circuit breakers protect the 9 tracks,I want to install an amp meter in series with the ground wire with a SP/ST switch in Parallel, when it becomes necessary to check the amperage on a particular track all the breakers would opened except for the track to be monitored the SP/ST switch would be opened and track amperage could be read.

I'd just leave the Amp meter on all the time as it doesn't really impact the circuit.
