I think we can answer your question right now.  MTH has said on numerous occasions that there WILL be PS3 upgrade kits.  The motors in PS3 engines are the same as PS2.  You will have to swap out the PS2's incandescent light bulbs for LED's, but the motors and smoke units are cross compatible.

 

I'm not sure where you picked up your info, but in the future you might want treat info from your source with a grain of salt.

I cab completely echo Dave's comment. There will be PS3 upgrade kits and the PS3 motors are identical to those in PS2 engines.

How are they dealing with the steamers with the drawbars?  Any idea of when PS3 kits might be coming along?

Barry, This has probably been asked before but is their a way to have the SXS soft key follow when operating a lashup? I mean if the lead engine has the SXS available then why can't it be in a lashup?

I can answer that for you.

 

The lashup soft keys are a standard set that every lashup gets put into all of its member engines, regardless of what special features the individual member engines may have. This set is, unfortunately, somewhat basic and does not presently include the SXS soft key.

 

I don't see DCS getting any additional features as long as MTH is still planning to develop "DCS 2.0", which was discussed at the last York DCS User Group meeting.

 

I am, however, still lobbying for a bug fix release for the current DCS.  

I guess it's time to unload all my DCS stuff.
