Have seen many images here and it seems they decided not to paint the trucks to match the cab as depicted in the catalog.
Which way is accurate for mid/late 40's to early 50's? Are any of the Lionel models correct then? If black is accurate we'll get one, if not we are going to pass at that price point. Thanks!

Some RR's did this - body color or non-black - and some didn't. I like the look, myself.
The UP had some boxcars in the 50's or so that were gray bodied,red-striped and red-trucked. So, depending, it's right or wrong.
