The attendees of the LCCA convention will get a sneak peek much to the dismay of some forum members.  Last time they did this the LCCA members did an outstanding job keeping it under wraps which had the forum up in arms. LOL! How dare the not tell the forum!

The catalog from what Ryan said on the "Ryan and Dave Show" was slated to be released in the later half of August.

Yes, I loved every minute of it.

Especially with some of the usual cranks and whiners that used to inhabit this place.

Me too!  That had to be one of the best group kept secrets in the history of catalog releases.

After all as I said last year, membership has it's privileges.  If you want an early look join the LCCA and go to Chicago.

I just went back and read some of the posts in those threads from last year and they are pretty funny.

Add me to this list!  Congrats to the LCCA for keeping it mum!

Reminds me of the neighbor's daughter.   She had an ultrasound look at the impending addition to the family.  Refused to tell mom & dad, other relatives, friends whether 'pink' or 'blue' was appropriate.  Drove them NUTZ for the last few weeks!!!

And, why not?  The suspense and anticipation is at least half the fun.......IMHO!

Re next hybrid?....  I'm betting it will make use of the same 2-8-2 mechanism as the last one.  It wasn't prototypical for the ATSF engine....but so what?....it surely didn't slow down sales.  And the learning curve for the mechanism/electronics is done....the rest of the model would seem to have far less 'risk'.  But ya never knowwwwww.....

Meh.  I'll find out well in advance enough to order, and Charles Ro sends me a catalog before alot of folks get theirs from the LCCA anyway.

It doesn't cost me a single penny either.

True but the advanced screening takes place at the convention and some folks had a fit because no one would spill the beans before the catalog came out.

Great Question Frank, I will let you know as I am attending the LCCA Convention in Chicago, soon, it’s been over 30 years since I have been to one of There big meets. The LCCA even gave me back my old original number, “1460”, Wow.  I know Chicago is big, I used to go there when I was a kid, but it’s going to be fun since I am now retired. I hope Lionel will have their big layout set up.

I will not be at the convention but a buddy who is will tell me what is in the catalog.

I'm not a member of the Lcca. It will depend on my buddy, if says spill the beans then I may just do that but if wants me not to do it then I will abide by his decision.

Bottom line is I will know, and the rest of you will not.

I may be able to bribed though and it won't be cheap.

I cant decide who are the bigger babies.  The ones that are "keeping it a big secret" or the ones that are upset because they "cant wait"....  🤔

Why would the ones keeping the secret per Lionel's request be the babies?  I'd think you'd be a bigger baby if you went against their wishes just to be that guy.  I'm sure in the big scheme Lionel knows the possibility of someone "spilling the beans" but if someone asked you to keep a secret what would you do?  Especially a non life or death situation.

I'm fine with Lionel requesting it be kept quiet.

I Love the Suspence you fellows are suspecting Lionel will do. They are the reason for the LCCA, a great Organization that has stood the test of time, do to Folks working Hard, for little or no pay, For Us to have a Fun Hobby with our Trains.  Yes, Lionel, no matter whether we agree with how or why they make their products, are a Great Company and we should appreciate their thinking. Who really knows what lies ahead, The Mystery will be unveiled Soon, I am Excited. This is a great thread, wonder who all is Attending.....Happy Railroading....

I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

How about a ride to York and saving you an hour in line because you forgot your badge at home?

Now when did I do that? Oh! Never mind.

I'm on the down hill side of train purchasing.  The scale Polar Express set is my last major purchase for a while.  I still love looking at the catalogs though.  I hope everyone gets a little bit of everything they want.

Same here. I just did a quick mental calculation going back about 5 years and I'm averaging a grand total of about 1.5 purchases per Lionel catalog. The 1 is for a single loco or maybe a set. The .5 is because I may pick an accessory here and there. Like the Bluetooth Radio Tower that I pre-ordered last year.

I haven't stopped buying trains but I've already got plenty.
