i need advice on wiring an Atlas #6931 to an MTH Scaletrax turnout. The turnout works perfectly, but the dwarf does not change color when the turnout changes position. when I apply track power the dwarf displays both red and green momentarily, then constant green regardless of switch machine position. I have moved the Atlas wires to different posts on the switch machine, but that only changed the constant green to constant red. I have even replaced the dwarf, circuit board and jacks thinking one of them may be defective but no difference at all.

has anyone experienced this, and what did you do to solve it?

I have no dwarf signals or Scaletrax switches, but here are a couple of wiring diagrams for the #6931. I use Atlas track and switches and might possibly be adding some #6931's someday, but it a long way down the to-do list.

The 6931 is designed to be wired two ways.

(1st) is with Atlas switch motors. Using the supplied PC board with the lights.   The impedence of the switch motor coil is key to correct function of the lights, it was designed to work with the Atlas twin coil switch motor.   If it didn't work with the existing Atlas switch motor, it was suggested that the Atlas switch motor be replace to acquire the correct impedence.   In some cases where one 6931 was used with a Switch motor cross over set, diodes were added to correct problems.  There are diagrams on the website for this.   Matching or wiring a 6931 to an MTH switch motor would require the correct switch motor  impedence.   Click on the underlined phrase to link.

(2nd), 6931 with the 6924 universal switch control board.   Should be straight forward the 6931 plugs to the 6924 board. There is an enabling jumper that has to be position to power the light from the 6924 board.  This instruction sheet.  Click on the underlined phrase to link.
