Atlas O gauge 081 turn outs?

I would doubt it since Atlas already has #5 (#5.5) as well as the big #7 (or #7.5).

WE will be lucky to see an 063 switch or  072/081 curved switch or even a rerailer . I think Atlas O's track development days are done.

I asked Jim Weaver similar question on Atlas track 10 years ago at Amheast MA show.

If Atlas is under the same requirements for rail as MTH then I would say no.

Can you use their No. 5 turnout instead?

You can construct an O81 curve with a #5 turnout.  You must start the curve earlier and will come out slightly later.  You start the curve with the turnout 12.25" (2 - 5.5" + 1.25") ahead with the turnout then 3 and a half (11.5° O82 curves and finally 1.25" straight.

The top track is the original curve; the next is the curve with the #5; and the last is the two overlaid.  The curve with the turnout lies slight outside the original curve.
