I just checked the website Johnson Rubber Roadbed and I'm a little confused.  It says that you're supposed to tack the roadbed to the board, but it make no mention of how the track adheres to the roadbed.  Is it just held in by the snug fit of the track ties in the rubber? Are  you supposed to screw the track through the roadbed into the board?  Looking for some practical advice from someone who uses this stuff.

The Johnson Rubber roadbed is designed for Lionel tubular track. When I bought mine it even came for 36 inch straights and O72 curves.

The roadbed has correctly spaced openinds that fit and hold the metal ties in place. Then the rubber road bed is stapled to the platform with a heavy duty stable gun. Not many staples per section are requied to keep in place, and noise transmission is minimal. This is what I remember from my first layoutca 1987,  which was 10 foot by 20 foot.
