When I saw Mike Reagan back in July or August visiting us at Eastside Trains in Kirkland, WA he was talking with us in the repair shop, I asked for him if he can supply us any technical paper work for the RCMC/RS-Lite, he called up Lionel right there and told them to email us the paper work. "I was like sweet" Then...all they sent us was the that general cropped picture of the boards with arrows pointing to the pin outs. The only thing that was helpful was it was blown up and not blurry. After I received this I was very disappointed. After thinking about this for a couple days and was working with MTH PS3/ERR wire diagrams I decided "Fine! Ill make my own". I went thru all my locomotives (15+plus) that have the new RCMC & RailSounds LITE boards. From the first use such as in the Vision Line 700e too the latest LEGACY 2-8-0's. From the first LEGACY SD60's too the latest LEGACY ES44s. I documented and made sure the wiring locations were consistent with each other. Doing this I have created what you see here.

We all know how helpful Lionel is sometimes getting us techs up to date with their electronics since they stopped doing those classes. I have spent many hours and months making these diagrams and as of today I believe they are ready for you guys to see. I am going over these all the time. I will update them when i find something that isn't right or a new variation. There are so far 7 Revisions of the board. They remained pretty much the same up until REV 7. Biggest physical change was they added the thermal resistor to monitor the heat of the smoke units. If you have any technical/trouble shooting info on these boards that you think would be helpful to add, shoot me an email. I want to make this as helpful to all of us as we can. If you want the actual .JPEG Files I can email them too you. I have made a PDF version for you to download. The link is at the bottom of the attachments/pictures. Thanks guys for reading this and checking it out. Let me know what you guys think or have suggestions!

Okay! woke up this morning my inbox is full of requests for the files. Looking back at the ones I posted they aren't up to my standard of quality.

What i'm thinking is for you guys to get the best quality image (that's not compressed) Is to convert the Original file too a PDF form like GUNRUNNERJOHN did with the Jpegs. I want you guys to have the BEST quality. I will Email you all that responded with this PDF. Ill also post the PDF on this page.

This is just awesome! Thanks for sharing. I just keep dwelling on those pinouts for programming use...if teenage hackers loved trains as much as iPhones, these RSL cards would have been jailbroken by now, and we would all have apps letting us upload custom sounds...

One day someone will figure it out. Its not that difficult once you know what those pins are for....

Thank you all for the extremely positive feed back! Definitely makes me feel like I didn't waste hours of my life working on this.

I want this to be a group thing. I want to try and make this the standard "go to" guide for us. I can update, change, delete, create and add-on, to improve this guide.

If you guys find anything you think is resourceful in your repair journeys or some trouble shooting info we can add to the "Un-official Guide" please shoot me an email. I want us to spread the information around as much as possible so we as the consumer can overcome the head scratching of trying to figure out Lionel's LEGACY RCMC Electronics. (since they are not much help)

Maybe one day we can crack the programming code for the RCMC and RailSounds Lite

Everyone refer your fellow members and colleagues to this feed. Once again thank you for the responses. I'm always an email away.
