Apologies if this is not the correct forum, but I wasn’t sure where to ask after reviewing the options.

In any event, a friend’s dad passed away and left a collection of G gauge Bachman trains. One 4-6-0 locomotive, plus what appear to be about two starter sets worth of track, half a dozen box cars and a few passenger coaches. I wanted to donate it to a club or similar, as I do not want to seen it thrown away. I was hoping to get a few leads or ideas on where to start as I am not that familiar with the G scale community. Any ideas appreciated. If it is relevant, I am in the MD suburbs of DC. Thank you.

One thought would be to check with some garden clubs. Or even the Smithsonian Botanical Gardens. I think they do a G-gauge train display over the holidays. Another thought would be the Rails and Roads museum in Frederick, MD.
