thank you Steve!  I see your point: the standard gauge displays nicely, the bridge girders would conceal the O Gauge.

 

Lew, thanks for posting.  mine has the single socket like Steve's, it's interesting to see the double version.  Looks overall bigger, like it might accomodate Gauge 1?

 

 

For those wanting to know more about British signals, the blades with square ends are Home signals, and those with "fishtail" ends are Distant signals.  Hornby used both on

its various signals.  My photo shows the rear of a Hornby signal --Home blade on top

and Distant on the bottom. (Signal is to the right of the magnetic crane.)I'm also including a photo of the Hornby #1 signal gantry with both blades.
