Brought some old memories back for me, Rich.  Having been around a long time already by 1952, I remember the Bob Peare line, very well.  Heck of it is that about that time, I always say, I "fell in with the wrong crowd" and got rid of all my "0" gauge 3 rail stuff and went into Ho-Ho gauge.  So began an extended period of over 20 years with that little stuff which, by the time I was in my 40's, I could barely see any more.

But, as I recall, I had two Bob Peare switches on my 9' X 5' table that provided for all of the operational variety that I had available to me.   Never did get into any of his car kits, however.
