I have two MTH 400e engines that I bought used.  They are both black and brass with PS2, and I run them in a DCS lash-up.  One came with a New York Central brass plate with black lettering on the tender, and the other has MTH Lines (or something like that) in red.  I think I would like both tenders to be the same, and I found another tender with New York Central on it.

My question is whether anyone knows how to just change the nameplate instead of incurring the cost of a new tender? I searched all the parts suppliers I know, and none had the 400T name plate available.

Thanks,

George

It may be a bit more difficult than calling MTH. I was looking for some Lionel plates at one York and the parts guy at the MTH booth told me they don't sell the brand name plates.  I imagine it might have something to do with the LCT agreement that Lionel/American Flyer plates are only to be used on the new LCT tinplate that MTH produces under the LCT license.     I would look at some parts dealers that should have some repro name plates for Lionel trains.   George Tebolt comes to mind or maybe Hennings trains.          http://www.georgetebolt.com/          http://henningstrains.com/
