Because of the way the sides are built, the windows have to be made and installed individually. I built these up using a piece of colored cardstock to represent the shade with a strip of silver tape at the bottom. The shades are glued to the clear styrene window with some double stick craft tape and the window glued to the inside walls with the same craft tape. The venetian blinds in the lounge area are decals from Circus City.

From color pictures I found of a similar C&O car I think the interior colors are close to original although I guessed at the carpet colors.

Finally the diaphragms and grab irons are installed. The diaphragm at the "A" end is from Precision Scale and features a molded, flexible diaphragm made out of some kind of thin, rubbery material. The diaphragm on the blunt end is an old Walther's folded paper one. I used this since the PS diaphragms are considerably wider and would stick out too far on that end of the car.

Here's the gap between diaphragms with all the slack run out. Works perfectly on O72 curves.

Hi Ken

I just found your postings on Chessie 29 following a link on the COHS site that announced a basic kit for the car in S, the scale in which I model.  I am very interested in getting the plans for the interior that you have from USP.  Is it possible for you to scan them and send them to me via my email which should be in my profile?  I would greatly appreciate it.  If there is some sort of legal issue preventing it, I understand.

I too am a fan of the C&O and recently won Best in Show at the National S Gauge convention held in Buffalo this Summer.  I entered a scratch built C&O Gas-Electric Brill car with complete interior and lighting,  I am planning on this being my next project

It was great seeing your photos of the process you used in building this car.  As a fellow modeler, I pass along my congratulations on such a beautiful model.

The Brill is absolutely gorgeous. Excellent craftsmanship and a well deserved win at the S Convention .To the best of my knowledge it has only been produced in HO brass. I'd love to have one in O. You need to post details and pictures on how you built it. Is it powered?

I can scan and email you a copy of the plans. If you have a copy of The Official Pullman Standard Library, Vol 11, Mid-Atlantic Railroads by Randall and Ross that's where USP got them from.
