The milk tanks are prototypical. That said, I wish they left them out. Detail that is not seen, IMHO, is a waste of money. I have 7 of these milk cars and I really like them. As stated before, they are expensive. Since I don't ever plan to take off the roof or leave the doors open, I would prefer it if Lionel left the tanks off and saved me a couple of bucks.

I just purchased the Woodland Scenics H&H Feed Mill.  I didn't know it existed until yesterday when I found an ad for it in the Dec. 2016 issue of the other 3-rail publication that I had intended to set aside until December 2016 and then forgot about!  I've been so happy with my other Woodland Scenics B&R structures that as soon as I saw this I had to have it.  I'll post my own images when I have it in place on my layout.  In the meantime here's the stock image that did it for me.  I think all the "plumbing" on the roof is so neat.

I probably will replace the orange-ish LED visible in the image with something whiter; the stock LED looks to me like high-pressure sodium which I don't think existed in the 1950s.  Having made this purchase, I'll be parting with my MTH feed store and possibly my MTH granary.   My small town can't support two feed mills.  Stay tuned.

Bought these at the 2017 Lansing Model Railroad Club show last weekend. I didn’t know the SP Mint Car existed until I came across it on Amazon. I’m a big SP daylight fan so I immediately jumped on it. Similar situation for the MTH GE Evolution caboose but i bought it off of a MTH dealer. I can’t wait to try out the D&H RS-11 when I get home with a train layout to run it on!

Chris, Love the Atlantic. I agree. They're nice little engines. Mine is the first scale steam engines I bought.

I also agree.  Although the 4-4-2 design ( all roads ) popularity in the past was enormous, they have been eclipsed by the late steam giants so popular today.  Time was that this wheel arrangement was the go to for first class passenger service.  It's fortunate that the PRR's foresight in design and propensity for using smaller steam MU'ed helped keep the E6 alive until the end of steam.

Lionel's first scale E6 was also my first scale purchase.  It's now upgraded with an ERR, CCM.  I'm always on the lookout for a more recent version in Legacy.

This is some of the stuff I got at the Boeing model train show in Kent this morning.

The trees were very impressively made, and I got a good deal on those. I would have bought more if they had any more summer trees. As for the ticket dater, it has dates that go into the 1940s, which is something I've been looking for, for many years. Normally these ticket daters sell for at least a hundred bucks, I got an absolute screaming deal on this one.

Now I need to figure out how to get a ink ribbon for it...

The prize here is the "Pittsburgh."  This combined with my original five-car set MTH 20-6565 assembles a realist prototypical B&O "The Columbian" consist.

These are certainly handsome Ron. Looking at the product locator  on MTH site they are shown with dark trucks. Is the silver from the factory? I like it. My K-Line 15" cars have silver which looks really nice.

Also, does the 5 car set have the illustrated vista dome car?  How about some photos of the whole train please?

Sam good observation, BUT!

B&O's "The Columbian" is a very special consist to eastern railroading.  Which I will hit on when I post Friday or Saturday.

But in this case MTH made these sets (the 5-car and 2-car add-on) prototypically correct.  As stated "The Columbian" is special to the B&O and eastern railroading.

"The Columbian" inaugurated May, 1949.  The two complete consist built by Pullman-Standard had silver (aluminum)  painted trucks and a gold bottom stripe.  Have gleamed this from pictures in my small (only 12-volumes) library.  A picture of the "Pittsburgh" included this in-part in the caption "... the trucks are no longer in silver (aluminum) , still ... ."

MTH also made the dome correct, low profile with flat glass window (no distortion).

Unfortunately have no trackage.  That dream has most probably vanished.  Was intending to lay some track on the hardwood (hardwood central) this Tuesday when the lady of the house was at the hair dresser.  But my lead Oncologist has scheduled me to meet (consult) with another new Specialist (number 6 on team) tomorrow.

At yesterday's Trainfest Show in Milwaukee (West Allis), WI, I picked up my 27" indexed turntable from Steve (seated) at his Ross Custom Switches booth. He even helped me load it into my car trunk before the show got rollin'. That's super service.

The demo model shown below is his 33" largest size. A really slick, heavy-duty design. Can't wait to get mine installed and "dialed in".

Navy Yard Switcher.  I picked up a Navy Yard Switcher at the Allentown Train Meet, yesterday.  I also picked up a Post-War celebration Navy submarine on flat car and a Lionel Wind Turbine.

Here's a short video of the switcher on the test track after i lubricated the gears and oiled the armature.

One question I have is lubrication of the worm gear at the lower end of the armature shaft.  I suspect removal of the brush plate is required to do so.
