I seldom use my cab 1 remote because I use my DSC to run TMCC. Tonight I wanted to reset a TMCC Engine and it wont respond. I replaced the batteries and nothing. The buttons give the beeping sound when pressed so they are making contact. I think this happend before but I can't remember what I did. Any solutons or is it time to replace it?

Can you see the red light on the command base blink in response to CAB-1 button and throttle commands?
If it does, the CAB-1 is probably working and the trouble is elsewhere.
I can run my TMCC locomotives with the DCS remote but not the cab 1. so the base is working.

I had one do that when the crystal popped out
I read the trouble shootin at Lionel.com and I took it apart and the crystal was in but I took it out and put it back now it works. I guess it was coroded from like 12 years of being in there.
There was a thread about cleaning the back of the touch pad numbers with a soft oil free cloth. This also seems to gain a little more life from Older Cab1's
