Camoflauging MTH Grade Crossing Speakers

I have MTH lights and a Walthers gate.  The speaker and sound module are by others.  The speaker hides under this Ameritown building.

Had ours mounted below the table top facing up, hidden by a trackside shed. Bob's in the building solution shown above works well also.

I mounted one underneath my layout, and could hear it just fine. No need to hide it on top the layout.

I hid one in a nearby motel, and another in a nearby covered bridge.

I placed my speaker inside a Plasticville switch tower located near the RR crossing.  I also put a cut-out switch in line as the incessant ringing gets on my nerves rather quickly.  I have it connected to an ITAD but with a small layout the trains get around rather quickly.

I placed my speaker under the layout close to the gate crossing and the sound was quite realistic.  Above the layout may be a bit loud and not quite realistic.  Really depends on what the layout owner likes.  There are many suitable solutions.  Try a couple and choose which one you like best.
