Can Motor Worm Gear Lubrication? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

What is the best Grease to use on the Can Motor worm gear that drives the wheels on a GP-9 Diesel? I recently replaced an AC Pullmor motor with a DC Can Motor and want to make sure it's properly lubricated. My initial lubrication was with Labelle 106 Grease with PTFE. Is this sufficient? Thanks for your help.

LaBelle 106 is fine. Red N Tacky #2 is also a good choice.

Someone said that Red N Tacky separates, the oil separates. Not unusual for a lot of grease, but might be an issue. I use a synthetic Mobil One grease for about 10 years...nothing has worn out and the grease seems to stay together.
