i have connected the db9 rs232 bluetooth adapter to the CAB-1 base and powered it with a 3 volt power source. The red light is flashing on it currrently.I can not pair it to my android phone. I have downloaded the blue train app on that phone. Any pearls of wisdom for me? I am missing a step here ?

There's a small button on the adapter. Press and hold it and the flash rate on the light will change (I can't remember if it goes solid or blinks faster. At that point, have your phone scan for bluetooth devices and pair it (I had two and one said "LINVOR" while the other one said "HC06" as a device name). It should work from there. Bluetrain works pretty well, but your range is limited by your bluetooth signal strength (about 15 feet). The other thing is that you can't connect multiple phones to the device at the same time. In contrast, the Lionel LCS WiFi interface to Legacy will allow multiple devices to connect simultaneously. Haven't tested it with a Cab-1 base..
