Chesapeake Western 662 Running

The Virginia Museum of Transportation has the cosmetically restored Chesapeake Western 662. It was one of the "Lost Engines of Roanoke". While I'm not a big diesel fan, I do find this paint scheme especially attractive. Plus, this engine has a connection to my home town of Roanoke.

For years I had asked MTH to do this paint scheme. It never happened. Years ago, I purchased a MTH PS2 VO 1000 with hopes of getting it repainted. Decals became a major roadblock. With many thanks to Christine Braden, my CW 662 is now in operation on its home rails.

Gilly, can't really tell from the pics, but did you apply the cow catchers to both ends? I see what appears to be snow plows, but not steam engine cow catchers.

Good eyes. There are several detail items that differ between a DS-660 and a VO-1000

No front (or rear) cow catcher. Yes there's a snow plow on mine. I forgot to take it off before the repaint.
Missing the front number board on the hand rail, steam era classification lights, pocket push pole.
One exhaust stack instead of six
Inside of the horn bell should be red (I didn't ask Christine to paint this. I'm 99% sure she would have)
No builder plates ( I do have BLW decals IF they will fit in the proper space)

There's probably more, but that's what I could come up with off the top of my head. I'm a runner and I'm not going to let a few detail pieces get in the way of my enjoying this engine.
