Has anyone used a product called Tarnx to clean the brass wheels on their tenders??   Or for that matter the steel wheels??  I have on several occasions and followed up with a wire brush in a Dremel and is just gets them so much like new..

I would not use on plastic wheels, I would think it would do more harm than good..\

Looked up on the site and TarnX did not state that it works on brass, did state copper (brass is made up of copper/tin or zinc or both), so I would try it on a scrap piece of brass before I did the tender wheels.
I know some folks would frown on it but 4 zero steel wool (very very fine) works great as long as you have a air compressor to blow off any residue or a Scotch Brite pad # 7447 (which is a bite more aberasive).
If it is just gunk with no heavy tarnish I would use a solvent and be careful of any painted surfaces or plastics.

It might stain a shell, but black plastic wheels might be fine. Guess what the bottle is made of

May wipe the backside of a wheel?

I think I used the last of my Tarnex, but if I have any left I have some old AF wheelsets, so I might be able to test. If I do have some left I'll give results within 24hrs. Otherwise, your on your own to test )
