Hi, does any one know if there are 3RS clubs in the Upstate area of NY? Thanks, Peter

Depending on what your definition of upstate is, the closest thing to a 3RS club to me in Rome, is the CNY NRHS in Syracuse. I'm a member and we have a clubhouse behind JR Junction Trains on Erie Blvd.
thats where I took these shots:

This as well...
There are Hi Rail Clubs in Rochester and Oakfield, NY but I don't think they fit the defination of 3RS as stated on the 3RS forum. Mostly scale equipment is run with mostly weathered scenery and some engines and rolling stock.

What do you mean by "Upstate area"?
Not trying to be difficult, but to folks in NYC, Upstate is anything north of NYC, and to folks in Albany, Upstate is north of Saratoga, basically the Adirondak park.
There is a TCA Chapter called "Upstate New York" , it does not include anything in the eastern portion of the state, and around here, we refer to their area as Western New York or Southern Tier.
Confusing? you bet.
So, if you mention a town, city, or county, you might get more meaningful answers.
check out the Flower city Hi railers in Rochester. Layout is scale in appearance with lots of nice buildings and sceanery. lots of photos on the web site.
Thanks CentralFan1976, just couple questions what trains do you runs there? What control system do you use? How do I apply for a club membership? Thanks, Peter
Peter,
you can find out more information right online at cnynrhs.org. Or, swing by JR Junction.
I run everything, including Lionel, MTH and K-Line.
We have two Z4000s running DCS through four TIUs and two Legacy bases and two TMCC bases. You can also run conventional through the transformers as well.
Thanks,
Mario

Yes, Rick is correct... If you're on the west side of Syracuse, then the Flower City group is like our "sister", and we even combined layouts two years ago to make one massive layout.
I know of at least one member on here, Norton. Hey, Norton!
BTW... Here's video from last year's show. This was just right around the time I was getting into 3RS, and hadn't converted anything yet.
Hey Mario. Peter, this is great bunch of guys. You will have a lot of fun with them.
Pete
Hello Peter,
Our group meet most Thursday evenings after 7pm in a large room behind my hobby store at 2716 Erie Boulevard East, Syracuse NY 13224. Another OGR forum member "Tom4" is the new model railroad coordinator. We are part of the bigger organization of the Central New York Chapter, National Railway Historical Society Inc.. Not only do we play with 1:48 scale trains but also 1:1 scale trains too! We own two railroad station museums, several locomotives, rolling stock and other equipment spread around three properties. As Mario said, check out our web site www.cnynrhs.org. We also sponsor the largest model train show in New York State and second largest public show in the northeast.
I do not "play"...
