bought a legacy controller and smoking whistle loc and cattle car with cow sounds. The cows moo everytime i blow the horn. I looked in the manual and pressed the buttons to control the car but nothing changes. How do I take control of the cow sounds?

is it set to the same engine ID as your train? Make sure it is set to a different ID than the train
Is the engine assigned as 99?
ID 99 will trigger all later Legacy engines. It is the "All" function for Legacy. The later Legacy engines have ID 99 hard coded as well as the ID you give it. So if the Cattle Car is 3, it will respond to 3 and 99.

I assigned #1 to my engine and tried to make the cattle car #2, even had it on program, hit the acc, named it cattle, 1867 number(on car #) and next and nothing worked.
What is ACC? ACC is for accessories, the cattle car is an engine. Make the cattle car ENG2 if that ID is available.
I think he ment he programmed it as an ACC. It should be programmed as a engine/freight in the drop down menu . Also treat the cattle car as an engine.Turn the speed up on it then apply the train brake, then you should get all the sounds. If you assign it the same number as the engine you will get stereo braking but of course the cow will moo with the whistle. There is also a way to put it in trainlink to get stereo brakes but i cant remember that right now, check the book.
THAT DID IT! thanks y'all! works fine now. Before I could only get a portion of the cowboy sound when I rang the engine bell, now I get the entire sequence.
