You must be wondering what a guilty plea to a cover-up has to do with scenery and structures.

My main weapon for this cover-up was lichen.

Here's an example:

Notice the green and yellow lichen in front of, and to the right of, the Lionel Double Signal Bridge.

You would not believe how many wires and wire connectors (the things you stick two wires into and then twist to connect the wires) are hidden under that lichen.

Unfortunately, I did not take a "Before" photo that shows those wires and connectors before the cover-up.

Something else I did greatly improved this scene. I remember I had some black paper I purchased from an arts and crafts store several years ago. I cut that black paper in the correct shape so it would fit between the tracks and cover up the mass of unsightly wires and connectors. Then, I placed some little pebbles/stones along the edges of the black paper to hold it down. Then, I applied some white glue on top of the black paper and placed pieces of lichen on top of the glue.

So, in this cover-up caper, my weapons were  lichen, pebbles/stones, black paper and glue. LOL.

Are you also guilty of a scenery and structure cover-up? If so, please share it here, and tell us what you covered up, and how you committed the cover-up crime, and what weapons you used to commit the crime.

Arnold, lichen is the first thing I thought of when I saw your post.  I've used it in various locations around my layout to hide seams or mistakes.

In this case, the lichen just beyond the little wooden bridge bottom right hides a seam from a lift out.  You can see the seam above that area where I have not yet hidden.

Here I used drink straws, painted grey, to hide wires for a flashing light on top of a bridge (upper left).

Drink straws to hide wires? Very clever. Thanks, Steve, for sharing.

This is a follow up on my post a few days ago. You may recall that I explained how I covered up some wires from my double signal bridge (with an outside insulated rail block as a triggering device) using black paper and lichen.

This morning I needed to temporarily remove the black paper and lichen to adjust the wires. This photo shows those wires and connectors:

I'm guilty as charged again for the coverup by placing the black paper and lichen glued on top of it back into position, as shown below:
