When I saw this on ebay, I assumed it was a nicely customized Marx CV. It ends up the loco shell is all made of wood except the motor mount and a few trim pieces. The workmanship is outstanding.
It is not too heavy so not done in a hard wood. It was made in the US. Got it on e-bay from a seller selling a lot of trains from an estate. Most were custom painted Marx, but this one just had my name all over it.
