I noticed this a while ago, thought it might be worth mentioning.. I frequently use the ALL function when I run trains, right now I have 7  Diesels in 3 trains. All running just fine, however after awhile they start bunching up and I have to adjust spacing. I'll stop everything by throttle, then select the rear trains locomotives one at a time and put in reverse, Then start everything moving again with ALL throttle,rear train backing front trains going forward. when spacing is adjusted I stop with the direction button in ALL mode, then start moving again ALL mode and they are all moving forward. Perfect !!   it seems like the ones going in reverse would go forward and the ones going forward would go reverse. 

Probably doesn't mean much

When I was trying to see how many trains I could run simultaneously, I too utilized the "All" command.  I did not try what you described; however, I utilized the ability to adjust the slack between the consists by just adjusting their speed by individually addressing an MU or mult-header consist.   I had the fastest consist first followed by slower ones until I got to the slowest at the end. I would start them with the "All" command and then I individually just speeded up the slowest by 1 smph or reduced the lead consist by 1 smph when the slack between trains required adjustments.  In my case because I have several Kline and Lionel engines converted to Proto2/3 with several loops that require significant smph speed differences to maintain similar speeds.
