Does anyone know what the height weight lenght would be on a 1970s single wide trailer with a flat roof be.  I know they came in all different sizes in real life.  Im making a one and want to know if its right I cant find anything on the web.  Woodlands O scale trailers have the dimensions but they include everything  porch, antenna, etc.  Thanks

Google "single wide mobile home" and you'll get page after page of floor plans like these of every imaginable length and width:

Pick one that fits your space and the style that appeals to you. Some of the smaller ones of the era (up to about 35') had irregular rooflines like some camping trailers (and the MTH models). The one I owned in the early 70s was considered a long one for the time and was 65' long and 12" wide, and had a slightly raised roofline over the living room.

Others of the era had perfectly straight rooflines. Don't forget to model the car tires that we would place on the roof to cut down on the rumbling of the metal roof when the wind would blow!!!

As far as height, all had to meet the 13'6" max height requirement of the DOT. The actual sidewalls on mine were just over 8' high with another 20" - 30" or so for the wheels. They would then be raised another foot or so when placed on piers in a trailer park with wheels removed.

I spent many an hour crawling underneath with a water line level, adjusting the piers, to keep the eggs from rolling off the kitchen countertop every spring when the ground thawed!!! Not sure if I would call them the "good old days" in my life!

You won't be far off if you go 8' high (2 inches in O)  for the height of the sidewalls and another 2' (1/2" in O) from ground to trailer floor level. That would make the overall height 2 and 1/2" in O scale from ground to top of roof.

The front doors were pretty much standard height ( about 1 and 5/8" in O scale).

The MTH model looks way oversized. I haven't seen the Woodland Scenics models in person, but they look to be in the 40' to 50' range in length.

Thought I would post some pics of my progress. I still have to add curtains, mast pole, weathering, etc. I made a out building to go with it. I made it to put on a small part of my layout   The idea was for it to be the mobile home on the wrong side of the tracks  I even started a new one with a metal roof   What do you all think so far
