Today's Sunday Gazette Newspaper in Schenectady featured forum member Don Klose and his recreation of many famous downtown Schenectady buildings. His Bellevue and Schenectady Railroad was the main theme of the two page article on downtown Schenectady.

As mentioned in the article, a recent fire destroyed a large part of one historic downtown block, making Don's railroad an even more important reminder that preservation of our past is vital.

Here is a link to the online version of the article.

Don Klose article

The Bellevue and Schenectady was featured in OGR magazine Run 230, but we sure could use a video tour of this great railroad on one of the OGR layout videos as soon as possible.

Congrats, Don, and thanks for being a great ambassador for the hobby here in Schenectady.

Congratulations Don!

That was a very nice and informative article!

Enjoyed the photos and beautiful, gothic layout, a real master piece!

I informed my family about you and the article along with a video. It will be nice to know that my Grandkids can visit the vast collection of RR items housed in a beautiful museum someday.

Most layouts / collections just get parted out and sold off.

They may even get to see the vast collection of their own Grandpa’s weathered cars on display there as well.

That would be an honor.

A video is in the works!

I'll be shooting it this summer for a fall release.

Rich, that's very timely; and, very good news.

I could have met Don at Trainstock 3 I believe. There was so much to see that it was overwhelming. One of the OGR head guru's told me to scale it down a bit as I was acting like a kid in a candy store. It floored me as I didn't realize I was out of order. I did get to meet a lot of the big players here.

So although I thought it looked like Don, I never approached him. Kind of sticks in the back of my mind as a missed opportunity. He ruled the scenery showcase for a long time (couple of years?) with some amazing new structures every week!
