No, that can't be true, since the traction cabling has not yet been installed between the motors and the high voltage electrical cabinet. She will be towed dead in consist with the power on the headend.

Yes, since the cabling to the traction motors has not yet been installed.

Too bad it won't be powering it's way on the front of a train ....

Absolutely NO WAY, would any of the railroads want that beauty on the point! Just think what could happen if they hit a truck or auto at a grade crossing???

What is still needed to be done to make it operational and "mainline fit?"

Install the traction motor cabling all the way to the high voltage cabinet, is the last major job.

I see that IRM is bringing it's Burlington. Anyone hear if this will be an excursion out of Chicago with their Nebraska Zephyr consist? Count me in on that ..that wold be a once in a lifetime experience.

The IRM is only send their Burlington E5A unit. The Zephyr train is NOT going, and since the E5A will also be dead in tow, there will be no excursions out of Chicago.

Thanks for the clarification.

Will be there and am looking forward to this event.  Have never seen a PA and thought it would be a few more years until my travels would take me to where the survivors are based. Thank you to everyone involved for making this happen.

When the Spencer gathering is done, I hope the 190 can hang around east for just a little while before going home. There are more photo opportunities that should happen. How about getting the 190 together with 765. What a picture that would make!!!

Nope. The NKP 190, as well as the CB&Q 9911, will be quickly returned home.

The next "big event" just might be the 2016 annual convention of the Nickel Plate Historical Society.
