I stumbled upon a few videos about East Broad Top today and thought others may find them interesting. One is a 1950's black and white video showing a steam switcher and their 1927 gas-electric, M-1. Another is a local news segment on the railroad and a nicely done 2015 school project. A couple of others show the M-1 in color from recent times. Finally, there is a short video of a tour of the roundhouse in 2016.

One of the videos had a lot of folks crammed into a speeder...it looked like a contest for how many people can you squeeze into a car.

Looks like an interesting place to visit...yes, a time capsule as well as a museum- all in one.

I remember reading that when the school in Three Springs was built in the late 50's or early 60's that the EBT ran the speeder out past the school to ensure that the tracks remained when the school was built.   The last time I was there the tracks remained, in the grass in front!

Sadly that trip is not possible today since the deck truss at Pogue has rail but no ties to hold them.

It's amazing how the rails exist along much of the entire 40+ miles of railroad but the ties are long gone.

I think I rode this train when I was in high school - we went there on a field trip (we're in Franklin County - not far) - probably around 1980-82.

I remember the smell of the steam more than anything. We rode in the passenger/excursion cars.

Been trying to recall that trip - and I think I had been googling "Broad Mountain Rail" to no result...thanks for the thread!
