For me there have been a lot of them over the years. Of course the already listed "What did you do on your layout today?"

This currently running topic is a bit of a sleeper, but it raised some interesting questions, sort of by accident:

As a Daylight fan I enjoy the passion put into the several threads concerning the "correct colors" and "best corrugated aluminum extrusions".

The most helpful are from our electronic and repair wizards answering "how to" questions. The level of detail and specific knowledge that can be found on this forum is scary.  I am surprised no one has tried to take over the world with the combined knowledge stored here!

Muwahahaha.

Lots of honorable mentions on builds. I would run out of room so "people" are near minimal as I can manage.

 Charlie's Evolution of a PW layout wins by making something out of nothing, using nothing.....or would that be anything?

Vignettes #1 & #2. Read me another bedtime story please.

What did you do today?     Variety of all kinds in one thread.

Eric Lindgren's photographs.  "is it real? Or is it Eric's X?" Lola, ♪♪ la la la lola♪♪(the composer started it, I just finished it). Kinda deserves his own clip gallery.

Scarm threads and the collective input ..... Reason #3 that there is no way I go "device" over pc again. 

Real RR stories. The memorible experiences of the 1:1 guys was awsome ("may I have another Sir")

Myles "Trainmans" step by step detailed coverage of his builds, and never skipping his mistakes (thats when we learn best sometimes).

And one last, not really a thread, but an attitude I misplaced somewhere; still looking. I call him Captain Encouragement. Any Mark Boyce post.

A big Plus 1 on #3 above. I refer to that thread all the time.

Another favorite -- from about three years ago -- was one on MPC-era trains. Full of great info and even better pictures.

Oh,.I forgot abou the dealer displays thread. That is awesome.

Switcher Saturday- Lots of fun here!

Team Track Tuesday- Every Railroad needs a Team Track.

My Dream Nightmare Layout- Elliot's baby is inspiration to us all.

Several of the build threads- Max South Oz, Elliot (again), Trainman 2001, Paul2, Mark Boyce, any of the post war builds. Love to see the old stuff brought back to life.

Any time the wizards post, I follow. Marty F, GRG etc. Thanks guys for sharing your expertise.

Overall the feeling of community and support from all of the members. I'm always blown away by the "likes" and comments from the group when I post stuff from my humble little layout.

And I second Adriatic's comment!

And one last, not really a thread, but an attitude I misplaced somewhere; still looking. I call him Captain Encouragement. Any Mark Boyce post.

I am humbled.  I am certainly glad I saw this to give you both a thank you!!!  It warms my heart to know that my comments are appreciated.  Thank you!  I always enjoy hearing from each of you!  As a lone wolf model train enthusiast for most of my life, the last 5 years on this Forum have been a real joy!!!

I'm with fellow Pittsburgh area member, MartyE.  There are so many great topics out there, I could just go on and on.

I like the  controversial ones that are a tad humorous.  Unfortunately, allot of them are quickly deleted. 

My favorite ones are the follow along and watch this project come to life!

The OGR Forum is a great place to share knowledge and experiences in our hobby! I have been a member since 2001 with three forum names: Beowulf, Multi-Gauge Art and currently Tinplate Art!

the midweek photos

1.  Any thread that discusses the history of a train, engine or car.

2.  Any thread that goes into detail on TMCC/Legacy issues or new ways to use it better.  Always like diagrams and specific part numbers.

The photo threads are fun, but what I really like are pictures actually taken by the poster with a little background info.  Web pictures are all right when supporting a specific topic, like the Freedom Train, or discussing prototype color schemes.

I've always liked the "What other hobbies/interests do you have?" threads. Also the pre-post York and Allentown threads.
