Here is a shot I got yesterday, next to the New Haven Depot. This short train is on the old GTW line now owned by CN.

Really eye-catching. Thanks for sharing. Nice angles. Like the white fence, the grass "alley" next to it and line of snow on the road and the train going by....

LASHUP is in a class all by itself.

When I was YOUNG I loved cold weather and I would stand by the tracks waiting for a great photo.

Now that I am OLDER I sit in the house with the heat on and I am still cold (No matter how many sweaters I LASHUP on myself ). I also wait for others to post beautiful "winter railroading" scenes .

I never understood why my father constantly complained about New Jersey winters for almost sixty years when there were so many perfectly good roads leaving the state and so many warmer places to live. He said I'd understand when I "grew up". Well I'm 51 now and still get as excited as a kid by every new snowfall. Maybe I'm just not quite grown up yet?

Couldn't resist this picture when you started to comment about snowfall. This was last winter for us in the UK, and somewhere under this lot are my ACE canopy stations on my garden layout!

German, having spent many summers in Wildwood/Cape May in my younger years, I still cannot imagine snow in NJ

I'm out in the white stuff three times a day, every day, for a total of about an hour and a half or more, so I guess I'm pretty well used to it. Can't say that I enjoy it as much anymore, but the pooch sure does (unfortunately).

I do enjoy seeing shots of trains operating in the snow. Tends to highlight the colors and make the subjects pop.
