G gauge questions

Despite being an LGB enthusiast, I’m not that familiar with pricing on their US steam engines.  I would try Facebook groups like gscale.net or LGB train fans for answerers. Plenty of people should know what these go for there. If you can’t do that then try searching eBay for completed items.  

I searched completed eBay auctions. The 2015d with box in good shape is going for around 100 to 200 dollars. Quite cheap for LGB, but many of the older engines form the 80s are common and not worth a lot these days. The 4030 box is quite common and only worth around 30 dollars based on sales. Keep in mind that rare variants or older yellow box versions of LGB items may be worth more.  I can’t tell if there is anything rare about these or if they are just the plain vanilla versions. 

I practically gave my big LGB collection away to an antique dealer  and after a year he hadn't sold it. Not a big demand in western Pa. The lousy weather doesn't help.  Not to bad mouth LGB, good stuff, runs great, I had  similar truck which ran great. Buy to enjoy as cheap as you can not to invest.

Only worth what someone will pay, nothing more these days. Old school model train retirement $ days long gone.
