Big snow job coming to Washington, DC. From what I hear its two feet of snow. When trolley lines depended on cash flow from operations for survival, clearing snow was a necessity. Below is a single struck snow sweeper in operation at PTM. Only a snow sweeper could clean out the rail grooves on paved streets.

Somewhere between 1-2' is supposed to be on the ground where I am by Sun.
Should give me a few days at home to get some work done of building another trolley car that I have on my bench right now.

Be careful Martin, but I'm sure you're use to it by now. I went up to Fort Detrick to a conference back in the late 80s, early 90s. It started snowing while we were in the meeting and by the time we got back on the road to the airport there must have been 1-1/2 feet on the ground. I hope it stays north of Tidewater!
Snow removal? LOL, it's like 70 degrees here in North West Florida. For all of you Northerners, sounds like a great day to stay inside and run trains to me.

Until the power goes out.............and with the forecast amount, could be 3 or more days until the plows arrive, if at all. It was more than week after the 2010 storm that it was a front end loader removing the packed down ice from the road.
