Glue suggestions for repairing aquarium film? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a modern Lionel aquarium car with a Halloween theme. In getting ready for Halloween season I noticed the film wasn’t rotating. After disassembling the car, I noticed the film “loop” has come unglued. I’m looking for suggestions on the best glue or tape to use to repair it. Will standard invisible tape hold up? Super glue? Thanks in advance.

I used transparent tape years ago and never had a problem.

I too used a good clear shipping/packing tape that you can slightly overlap with hardly any view of the spliced seam. If done carefully, you can reinforce the entire strip w/ the tape if the filmstrip has become damaged or brittle.

DON'T USE super glue...It might destroy it....I would try double sided tape.

You could try a plastic heat sealing machine which are not expensive, the ones used to seal plastic packages.

Did that once and it worked quite well as it melted the 2 ends together.
