I've had this problem ever since I got my MTH 20-20246-1 Pittsburgh and Lake Erie GP7 with PS3: only the red marker lights light up on the rear of the engine, and the green don't function at all when I turn the marker lights on using my conventional transformer. Any suggestions to get them working without sending the engine to MTH?

do the green markers turn on when the loco goes in reverse?
Open shell and check the springs that contact the contact pad. Usually markers are wired to the shell, and use the spring contacts to energize. May not be making good contact.
Just be careful replacing shell so no wires get pinched.

No, they are supposed to stay on regardless of direction.
