H*** On Wheels back for Season 3 - 8/10

Looking forward to it, too, along with the final episodes of Breaking Bad.  I don't think we've seen the last of The Swede...  I'm afraid that Lily, on the other hand, is pushing up daisies...

Seasons 1 & 2 are both available on Netflix.

I am glad season 3 is coming, I love this show.  While not historically accurate, at least they aren't purporting to be like the latest Lincoln movie......

I love HOW!  This season we may get to meet Gen. Dodge as the Union Pacific gets built across Wyoming.  Looks like we could encounter some mountain men, too, like Jim Bridger and Kit Carson.

Nope you get **** when you type H.e.l.l (minus the periods) I think they did fix it so you can write Hellgate

First and second seasons are out on DVD. Amazon has 2nd season for under 20$, season 1 for 15$. i'll have to order season 2 soon.

The two worst shows on tv. Violence is way beyond the pale. How anybody can watch breaking bad is beyond me.

I need to get caught up on Season 2, missed most of the episodes last year.

I had heard of this show back when it started, but for whatever reason never started watching it. That ended today. Just finished the second episode. Always liked Colm Meaney. Kinda bummed that Ted Levine didn't survive the pilot.

I watched season 1 a few months back, see that season 2 is now on netflix.  I will start that soon.  

I, myself, try to avoid violent shows as well - they tend to bring my spirit down.  HOWEVER, Breaking Bad is one of those shows I can watch for the same reason I could watch a graphically violent war movie like "Saving Private Ryan" - the story is compelling, well written and an insight into human nature.  Yes, the violence is over the top - but that simply reflects real-life (unfortunately).  My wife hates anything with violence - avoids it like the plague.  However, even SHE watches "Breaking Bad" as it is one of the best, if not THE best, written shows on TV today.

I watched one episode as the series uses railroads as a canvas and I found myself losing interest in this soap opera with guns quickly. I would rather watch "Once Upon A Time In The West" ten times than this sort of run of the mill Western. Made me miss "Deadwood." and it's quirky characters that was far better acted and written. The cardboard props or whatever they were as railroad equipment pale in comparison to "Danger Lights."

That is precisely why I watch.  The violence in this show is only a part of the setting or background of what the show is all about.  This is a character-driven show, and it is the journey that these characters take that is what makes this one of the best shows I've seen in years.  I like **** On Wheels for the same reason, although it is nowhere nearly as well-written as Breaking Bad.

I lost interest when they killed off the most interesting characters, Lily and Swede. Part of the appeal was the tension between Lily and the men, especially Cullen and Lily that we wondered what the outcome might be. It turned too dark for me, just another shoot 'em up depressing show. I have little interes in the new season. Shows kill off primary characters for many reason, some having nothing to do with plotlines and every thing to do with the business and contracts of the key players. Perhaps that is why Lily was killed off, because she could not be signed up again, who knows?

I'm thinking that Chris is right that The Swede will be back.

The producers say one of the reasons they killed off Lily was because they didn't want the main story turning into a Cullen-Lily romance, which is kind of where it was headed.

Personally I hope the Swede stays dead! On the other hand, they can bring Lily back anytime!
