I called Lionel support about my GP30 not responding to my Cab2; she told me to try a hard reset using the LionChief app. I cannot find documentation for the app that show how to do that. Can anybody shed light on how to reset your loco using the LC app?

Curious to hear what others have to say. I have never heard of doing a reset to a locomotive using the app.

I'm curious as well, I know of no "hard reset" in the LC app, I looked all around it.
Truthfully, if your Legacy system is working for other engines, and you have tried reprogramming this one with the CAB2, I'd say the engine is broken.
Must be a secret button

What is the product number? I found this using "The Google" from the Lionel Service News webpage. Seems to apply to LC and LC+ Bluetooth Engines...
RESET FOR LIONCHIEF AND LIONCHIEF PLUS WITH BLUETOOTH
06/28/2018
Bluetooth Versions (2017 to present): The LionChief and LionChief Plus locomotives with Bluetooth have a built it reset feature. After you have verified that the unit has an issue try to reset it. The manuals says this is how you restore sound levels, but is actually a code reset and has been found to restore motion issues as well.Earlier manuals do not mention this.
To reset : You can use only the dedicated remote that came with the locomotive to do this. It cannot be done from the app or the Universal Remote. Have power on to the engine and the dedicated remote turned on. Hold down the three sound buttons (horn, dialog, and bell), turn the remote off and then back on again, then release the three sound buttons.

The method Marty stated is indeed the only method I have heard of for LC engines. Nothing involving the app.

All of the above is true, and I seriously it'll have an effect on the OP's issue.
What Marty posted is only for LionChief engines. It requires the dedicated remote. It cannot be done with the LionChief APP.
If the OP is talking about a Legacy GP30, then only a Cab remote can do the reset.

After I saw Dave Olson's response, I got in touch with Aaron and the GP30 is on it's way to NC. Appreciate the good information.
Just received the GP30 back this morning, and everything works. Per the paperwork, it was wired incorrectly in China. I'm running it now with legacy and everything I have tested is just fine.
The only problem now is my family wants lunch, but I want to run trains.
