I know that J.D.S. Limited Productions has put DCS into an original Lionel heisler. Has anyone here managed to use the Electric Railroad boards to add cruise control?

I did... but not an easy thing to do. Lack of room is the problem. If I remember right I had to use a dremel tool to cut away
some of the cab interior. In the long run though, it was worth it....
Since the 2003 TMCC model has the standard DCDR, the ERR Cruise Commander M is a drop-in replacement. However, and this can be significant, it's about 1/8" longer, and the connectors are in a different place. I've put them into a number of small steamers, but I remember the Camelback I had to remove a couple of connectors from the motherboard and hard wire them so the board would fit. It's also likely there'll be some hacking on the heatsink to get it all to fit, that's been necessary in a number of instances.
