Heading to York!!

First-time attending the BIG show!!  I have bought the one-time membership, and a Guest pass, which as I understand allows Miss Nita and me full access. Some questions:

1.  What, in general, do I need to know??

2. Where is a list of vendors who plan to be there?

3.  What is the list of seminars and meetings?

How big of a vehicle should I take??  Just kidding- the money runs out before the vehicle fills.

Bring cash.

When you see something you want at a price you're willing to pay, buy it - it either won't be there when you come back, or you'll forget where you saw it.

Shower or bathe and wear clean clothes each day.  Don't block the aisles.

Be gracious to others, even if they aren't.

Make sure you bring a variety of bills, that is smaller currency like $10's, $5's, and $1's. I think last October I had at least $20 in singles. I did find that to work in my favor as far as paying for things I didn't have to worry too much about the vendors trying to figure out problems getting change.

Orange and Purple named Halls contain mostly major hobby shops and vendors selling mostly current and recently produced trains and accessories and also the manufacturers displays.

The other buildings are TCA members selling items from their collections. Mostly post war items to recent production trains.

But most of all, HAVE FUN!!

Good pair of walking shoes!  You may wish to bring a canvas bag for carrying your purchases. Not all sellers have bags.

Yes. Very good advice. I am bringing my hiking boots!

I think many trips back to the car was necessary...its not like buying HO.

Hi Mike,

On Thursday night a bunch of fellow forumites gather at the Quaker Steak and Lube on Kenneth Road for the OGR Forum get-together.   Folks start to arrive around 6:00 pm but you can arrive anytime.  We pretty much take over the entire back of the restaurant.

Please join us!  Numerous wives and significant others  attend as well.

"Tractor trailer"

LOL!

Clem's Primer is an excellent introduction to all things York.

I'll tell you if I ever hit the lottery I will renew my CDL and I will show up in one.

Well, if Henning's has a good show, there'll be a lot of room in the 28' trailer to bring back my treasures.

I am taking a break from fall york this year - as max may know I got my goodies at the Nicholas smith tent sale!

Here's hoping that you will decide to join with a permanent membership.  In addition to being able to attend York, there are many other benefits to being in TCA.

Now I'll sit back and wait for the TCA-bashing to begin...

Be sure to check out my table in the Orange Hall, for the first time Railroading in America Magazine will be at York!

Also, there is an Ice Cream Social on Friday night. Lots of fun!

When you know your booth location, please post it.

We will be right next to OGR in the orange hall.  I do not know the number yet, but I will let you know when I do.
