Not quite.  The RAIL height above the ties is 0.215" but the overall height from the bottom of the ties to the top of the rail is 0.44 inches.  Just measured it with my micrometer.

I'm sticking with very slight less than one-quarter of one inch.    I measured it with a ruler and my bad eyes.

John, appreciate the response but I think you just have the rail height.

Thanks Bob.  That's what I needed, total height (rail+tie).

The height mates with 027 track. The other guys can argue over who's right.

Thanks all.  I have what I needed.  I wanted to calculate clearance on a highway overpass that I am constructing.  We are going to end up with just slightly over 5" in clearance, which is fine.  I'm not running double-stacks or vista domes or anything modern; this is for the Pennsy in the 1950s.

Good point.  I know that Ross track, switches and crossings have the same 0.215" rail height but the ties are a little thicker.  This is not a problem when laying track initially but can be an issue after track is ballasted.  I replaced a pair of Gargraves 90 degree crossings with Ross after everything was ballasted (the plastic on the GG crossings wore out).  I needed to sand the ties of the Ross crossings on my disc sander to get the tops of the rails to line up.  Ross track is about 0.475" from the bottom of the ties to the top of the rail.

I never realized that Ross and Gargraves had a different height.  Good to know.

Its about 7/16" total, from the bottom of the ties to the top of the rail. Yes the Ross switches are a bit different, but not enough to require doing anything besides connecting them together with the Gargraves track pins.

There is a pretty close match with Atlas track also.
