I just wanted to introduce myself

I'm a tinplate addict   The first one I got was a Lionel 819 crane and then I has to have all the 800 series

Then came the 219 standard gauge and then had to have all the 200 series.  And I have a awesome 400E to pull them

Oh yes they are all original prewar Lionel. None of the Chinese built reproductions

Welcome.  This is a great forum, with lots of folks who have a lot of knowledge and are willing to share it.  It's also nice that the folks who like the new tinplate and those who like the original tinplate all get along well here...after all, it's all about the tinplate.

p.s.  I'm one of the ones who likes and has been collecting and operating the originals, but every once in a while I get a tug to buy some of the new stuff...haven't quite taken the plunge yet, but I'm getting closer.

Great to have you as part of the forum. I too would enjoy some pictures if you have the time. I have only been on the forum for three months. In that time I learned more than I had in many years. The search feature is great, everything you need to know is here somewhere. Again, welcome. Tinplate is a great area of the hobby. I currently don't have any but I really want to get a set for Christmas. I'm going with the new stuff, I love the sound and the command control...and the price. Also it's much easier for my wife to run smoothly.
