Wow!!I would have loved to meet him.And talk about trains.I did not know he did jimminee cricket voice.I know he did a cartoon called "IT TOUGH TO BE A BIRD!"This cartoon had my whole family laughing.
You learn something every day. I knew Ward Kimball created Jiminy Cricket, but never knew he also was his voice.
If you like Dixieland Jazz, check out The Firehouse Five Plus Two, in which Ward Kimball played the trombone.

Actually, he began working at Disney from 1934 to 1980, so he was working with Disney at the time this was made.
The animator of the cricket, yes. The voice, no.
The voice of Jiminy Cricket was a Vaudeville singer known as Ukelele Ike.
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen that before! What a nail-biter and cliff-hanger! Beats the heck outta' any railroad suspense movie I've seen for a long time! Had me on the edge of my office chair the whole time after the first few sparks started flaring!
But then again, I'm a sucker for great model railroad suspense videos. Thanks for posting.

AKA Cliff Edwards
Kimball didn't actually build the Grizzly Flats station, The depot building was given to him by his boss, Walt Disney, and was originally used as a set piece for the 1949 Disney film So Dear to My Heart.[
Very accomplished collector - videos out there of his stuff. Met him a couple of times when I was a kid, very involved with TCA, really funny guy. Pretty sure he was the facial model for Donald Duck!
