Help setting up DCS components

What are the overall dimensions

I would think one Z4000 would be plenty of power.

approximately 10 x 16.  But one will only give me conventional control of two tracks. 

One Z4000, one TIU.  You should electrically isolate each oval so you can run two conventional engines and maintain independent control.   

Forgive me but if i'm running two tracks conventionally with the variable power, where are the other two tracks going to get their power to run with DCS?

You can run conventional on 2 tracks with the remote, but for individual control a separate transformer would better handle the option you want.

Tim, you do not need another TIU. One TIU channel for each track loop. You could operate it with your 1 Z4000.  1 side ( handle ) of the Z4000 can be connected to 2 TIU channels. We have operated our layout that way for 8 years.
