For the past two days I taken a break from big, involved projects, or running trains for lengthy periods, to do a small, fun little project: filling in the last remaining empty lot in "lower Sn Beattadaise, the small 1950s town on my layout.  Soon I take up a long (but delightful I hope) task of building upper Sn Beattadaise (with room for many more buildings!) and adding two more Superstreets loops.

This photo below shows the new combined service and used car lot that expands the Henry family's Ford dealership.  It fills in an oddly shaped area inside the "turnaround loop" of the Superstreets  loop that goes up and back down my downtown Main Street (pictures were in OGR run 256).  For the longest time I could not figure out what would fit here, but this is perfect.  The building is made out of "junk": spare building panels, doors, windows, etc., left over from other projects.  In particular, I had a lot of fun painting the ads on the windshields of the used cars, etc. and posing all the figures (note particularly the salesman leaning on the hood and trying to talk that staid old couple that belongs in the Ford sedan into buying the Studebaker Hawk!).

This was a lot of fun.
