ahhh why not.

I'll share my efforts on the Longmont Terminal & Northern.

I call it the wedding cake highway (long story don't ask-- something about 3 rail guy and instant mountains) ;-)

The last photo with the UP E7's was a shot of a very similar scene I built for the old ex-Colorado Midland layout (now dismantled). I'm doing a similar scene on the LTN

nice progress Erik.

your use of HO railings on the bridge is similar to my use of HO products in my recent cement plant build. storage tanks and power transformers.

 

I can't help but wonder about the lack of any guardrail on the outside perimeters of the layout. We've installed 3" strips of doorskin material on all of our areas where the trackwork is close to the edge and without protection from trains going off into thin air and the subsequent result of gravity.

The first thing that hits my brain when I see your stuff is the high quality of the photography -- before I even get into the content.  

 

HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

 

Camera type?  Real photography using f stops and shutter speeds and focal lengths and specialize lighting?  What?  

 

HELP ME.    Lift the veil of ignorance from the great unwashed..

I have to go through a wall and I think that having the train travel through an overpass would be much more appropriate than entering a tunnel.  The era of your bridge is exactly what I wanted.  I wasn't having much luck finding materials to model it, until I started reading your thread.  Now the Rix Overpass page is on my Top Sites list.  I wouldn't have guessed the HO materials would work.  I don't know if it would have happened without this thread.  Thanks again.

Saw you guys at the show today.  Looking good!  Who did you anger to get stuck back there?  There was plenty of space out among the inferior scales!  I guess, having displayed at a few shows (60 or 70?) back in my single days, I can appreciate the solitude of a quiet corner!

 

Like I said, good looking modules and models!  Well done!

I always like your projects and posts.
They are MP-15ACs and an MP-15DC.
The MP-15ACs are Overland and The MP-15DC
is by Atlas O.  The quality of the Atlas O model
really does approach the OMI here.
I think they look realistic together pulling an industrial U.S. Army cut of Oshkosh M-977 HEMTT vehicles.

I've lived in Denver and Ft Collins and Durango and graduated from CSU.  Your pictures and videos of the modular layout and the activities at Tim's -- and on top of all this good stuff -- having the best model railroad store in the known civilized universe, Caboose Hobbies -- are making me want to come back to the Front Range.  Now if I can just convince my wife!!

 

Is there any realistic hope that the Colorado Midland will be resurrected in any reasonable timeframe?

 

What brand is the black ABBA set of Rio Grande F units?  My guess is Atlas O?

That is rather Complex to explain in one post.

This is our "branch line" tight radius and slow orders. Maximum speed limit 35 smph. The radius is 54" super elevation.
