Some 9 years ago my wife bought me the Hogwarts Express train set which I ran around the Christmas tree but otherwise didn't use it all that much. Several years ago after partial retirement I set up a 12' by 9' layout that had 2 separate  loops. I decided to add an elevated line with a 4' by 9' loop for the Hogwarts engine. I used supersnap track with 042 curves to ensure smooth running. To my amazement I have run into continued derailment problems, even to the point of the Hogwarts engine continuously flipping over. It is as if this engine is so top heavy it too easily tips over and falls off the track. On one occasion it fell to the concrete floor but there was no damage (the engine appears to be ruggedly constructed).  I did bank the curves slightly. Has anyone had this experience with this engine? I should mention that I ran several other engines through the same loop with no problem.

Thanks for the replies. You're right about the front truck derailing and when that happens the whole engine is in danger of tipping over. I tried running the engine slowly  (i easily pulls 6 cars) and it still tips over too easily. I also spent time making sure everything is level. I am not sure where the valve gear and driver quartering are located. Thanks again.
